VanNATTA - Mrs. Reta Fox, wife of Stover C.
Fox, of 2026 Hay Street, Wilson borough, formerly of 821
Cattell street, College Hill, died at 9:25 this morning at the
Easton Hospital, aged 29 years [1932]. She was admitted to the
hospital Sunday evening at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Fox was a native of
Phillipsburg and was a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Marshall
VanNatta, now of Flemington, NJ. She is survived by her
husband, who is line superintendent for the Metropolitan Edison
Company and by her parents and one brother, Virgil VanNatta,
of Nazareth. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church,
Flemington, NJ, and of the chapter of Order of Eastern Star at
Bernardsville, NJ.

HARTZELL - Mrs. Minnie Hartzell Minnich, 40 years old,
wife of Benjamin B.
Minnich, of 1514 Lehigh street, Wilson, died this
morning [June 1938] in Betts' Hospital after an illness of 11
weeks. She was admitted to the hospital on May 15 for surgical
treatment. Mrs. Minnich was born in Bangor.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Congregational
Church, North Tenth street and was active in church affairs. She
was a teacher in the Sunday school and treasurer of the Woman's
Missionary Society, also a member of the church choir and of the
Musical Arts Chorus, of this city [Easton]. Besides her husband,
she is survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Byron Hartzell,
of Wilson Borough, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Mertz of
Bethlehem, and Mrs. Darwin Edelman of Wilson Borough.
MINNICH - In Easton, PA., June 10, 1938, Minnie B.
Minnich. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the
services at the residence, 1514 Lehigh St., on Monday at 2:30
p.m. with Rev. Snyder officiating. Friends may call Sunday
evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment Easton Cemetery. Pallbearers
John, Irwin, Frank and Edwin Hartzell, uncles of Mrs.
Minnich.

Easton Express [Easton, PA] 15 February 1960
GARIS John E. Garis, 51, of 527 Center St.,
died this morning Feb. 15, 1960] in Easton Hospital. He was
hospitalized Feb. 7. Mr. Garis was born in Easton on March 3,
1908, a son of the late George and Mary T. Smith Garis.
He was employed at Metropolitan-Edison Co. for the last 24
years. He was a clerk in the line department. Mr. Garis
was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1926. He was a
member of The Arcadians orchestra. He played trumpet with the
band for 32 years. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church
of Christ; Easton Lodge 152, F&AM; Easton Forest 35, Tall Cedars
of Lebanon; Order of Fleas, and the Musicians Union, Local 379.
Surviving are his widow, the former Dorothy E. Apgar; a
daughter, Joan, wife of James A. Laubach, Easton; four sister,
Ada, wife of J.A. Lum; Nellie, wife of Earl Rapp, both Easton;
Mrs. Florence Sanderson, Phillipsburg, and Mrs. Mildred Miller,
Easton; a brother, George E. Garis, Easton; and two
grandchildren. A sister, Mary Margare! t Riehl, died
before him. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the
Strunk Funeral Home, Easton. Easton Lodge will hold Masonic
services at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
JOHN E. GARIS - the funeral of John E. Garis,
51, of 527 Center St., was held this morning at the Strunk
Funeral Home, Easton. Mrs. Garis died Monday in Easton
Hospital. The Rev. Frederick W. Shafer, pastor of St.
Peter's United Church of Christ, officiated. Interment was in
Hay's Cemetery. The pallbearers were John Fenstermacher,
Fredric W. Berdux, and Emmett Mattes, all members
of the Arcadians Orchestra, and Joseph Kirchgassner,
Arthur C. Spangenberg, and Russell Stewart, fellow
employees at Metropolitan-Edison Co.

Easton Express [Easton, PA] 14 March 1959
THOMAS - David E. Thomas, 54, of 2114 Birch St.,
Wilson, a line foreman for the Metropolitan-Edison Co., Easton,
for more than 30 years, died this morning at his home. He was
born in Broadway, NC, on July 27, 1904. He was a son of Polk
Thomas, Broadway, NC, and the late Katie Thomas. He was of the
Presbyterian faith. He was a member of the Easton Area
Industrial Management Club. Surviving are his widow, the former
Violet Leas; a son David A., Easton; four brothers, Wade,
Darlington, SC, and Harvey, Leo and Clyde, all of Broadway, NC;
four sisters, Mrs. Lee Brown and Mrs. Robert Usry, both
of Broadway, NC; Mrs. Robert Laaster, Bunnlevel, NC, and
Mrs. Burnell O'Brien, Durham, NC; and one grandchild.
Services and interment will be held Thursday in Broadway, NC.
Friends may call at Mr. Thomas' home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
