HINELINE DIES AT AGE OF 93
Joseph C. Hineline, a well-known resident
of Easton, and one of the oldest truck farmers in this vicinity,
died at 9.20 o’clock this morning at the home of his
granddaughter, Mrs. Horace P. Harrison, 913 Washington Street,

business, first at Michler’s, along the Bushkill, and later at

during the trying times of the Civil War practically made the
business extinct locally. In 1866 he purchased a farm along the
Delaware river, about two miles south of Easton, and remained
there until three years ago, when he was stricken with
paralysis, his left side being affected. Since then he had been
able to mobe about only with the aid of his nurse, and had been
making his home with his children. Four months ago he went to
live with his granddaughter, Mrs. Harrison.
During the three years of his illness Mr.
Hineline suffered patiently and was always cheerful in the
company of his friends and relatives. He possessed a wonderful
memory and many of his hours were spent in relating incidents of
his boyhood days. For many years he was an active member of St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church, South Side, and of the imp. O. R. M.
His wife proceeded him in death nine
years ago. Children surviving him are Mrs. Henry O. Trumbore,
of South Bethlehem; Mrs. Emma S. Edelman and Frank Hineline, of
